Haaretz: Erasing Gaza from the Face of the Earth and Linking it to the Real Estate Boom is Criminal Talk
SadaNews - The newspaper "Haaretz" stated that any talk about occupying Gaza, rendering it uninhabitable, and systematically cleansing it of its inhabitants so that Israelis and Americans can profit, is criminal discourse that has no place in any country around the world.
The newspaper clarified, in its editorial, that National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir suggested killing hundreds of soldiers and tens of thousands of civilians in the Gaza Strip to build housing for police officers, as part of a shortened plan to transform all of Gaza into a "real estate opportunity," according to the comprehensive plan proposed by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.
Smotrich revealed his insane plan - according to the Israeli newspaper - and stated that negotiations regarding it with the Trump administration are already underway, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu showed no reservations about his finance minister's statements.
"Haaretz" warned that merely discussing this plan with the United States, and having a senior minister in the government present it as a "work plan," reflects the gap between the government's official statements about destroying the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and recovering hostages, and the economic/colonial ambitions that its members discuss behind the scenes.
The fact that senior ministers can freely and openly express such things, and that they are not immediately and unequivocally rejected by the prime minister, demonstrates the moral, political, and legal level to which Israel has sunk under our current nightmarish government, the newspaper stated.
The newspaper noted that Netanyahu has been trying for months to create a smokescreen of empty promises regarding the release of hostages and the overthrow of Hamas, while requesting the army to destroy Gaza from its roots, leading to entire cities being erased from the face of the earth and entire villages disappearing.
Today, Smotrich revealed the interests behind these actions - as the newspaper claims - the "Gideon's Chariots" operation in its first and second phases, and possibly a third phase to come, is a military code name to pave the way for the "real estate boom" that Smotrich is promoting.
"Haaretz" concluded that all this underscores the necessity of ending the war, and called on those who are still hesitant and believe the government's lies to stand together now in front of these atrocities with their bodies, because this war will produce no boom for anyone, but rather horrific crimes and disasters.
