Occupation demolishes Khillat al-Dhab' village for the second time in Masafer Yatta south of Hebron

SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces demolished today, Wednesday, what remains of Khillat al-Dhab' village in Masafer Yatta south of Hebron, after having demolished most of it in early May.

The head of the village council in Tawani, Muhammad Rabai, stated that the occupation forces stormed the village and demolished it with bulldozers for the second time, and the demolition process included what remained of caves and residential tents, in addition to the re-destruction of the water network, sanitary units, solar energy cells, as well as the destruction of surveillance cameras designated to document the assaults of the occupation and settler groups on the residents and their properties.

In early May, the occupation forces had demolished the village, destroying more than 25 residences and caves, along with several agricultural facilities, and water wells, which eradicated all forms of life in the area after forcibly evacuating its residents.

Last June, the occupation forces declared the village a closed military area, forcibly preventing citizens and foreign activists from accessing and staying in it.

Khillat al-Dhab' is one of the villages in Masafer Yatta, located southeast of Hebron city, and its land area is approximately 3000 dunams, of which 250 dunams is designated for residential use, with a population of around 120 inhabitants.

It is among the villages threatened with displacement, as a decision was issued by the occupation court in 2022 to demolish it and displace its residents under the pretext that it is located in a live fire zone, aiming to seize the citizens' lands for the purpose of colonial expansion.
