The General Union of Palestinian Communities in Europe Welcomes the Adoption of the "New York Declaration" by the General Assembly
Sada News - The General Union of Palestinian Communities in Europe welcomed the adoption of the "New York Declaration" by the United Nations General Assembly regarding the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
In a press statement issued on Saturday, the union expressed its gratitude and appreciation to all the countries that stood by the side of justice and voted in favor of the resolution in the General Assembly.
The union said that this historic vote represents a victory for international will and the values of peace and justice, affirming the legitimacy of the inalienable national rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to establish their independent state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
It called on the international community to bear its moral and legal responsibilities, stand with the oppressed in Palestine, and increase support and pressure to end the Israeli occupation and enable the Palestinian people to exercise their right to freedom and independence.
The union emphasized that true and lasting peace in the region can only be achieved by ending the occupation, establishing an independent Palestinian state with its capital in Jerusalem, and returning refugees to their homes in accordance with United Nations resolutions.
The union urged the international community to take immediate action to end the massacre and ethnic cleansing being perpetrated by the Israeli occupation against our people in the Gaza Strip.
