Israeli Media Reveals New Details About the "Fire Summit" Operation in Qatar
SadaNews Translation - Israeli media published some details this evening, Tuesday, regarding the strike directed at the leadership of the "Hamas" movement in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The Israeli army's new operation has been dubbed "Fire Summit."
According to the Israeli army radio, as translated by SadaNews, about 15 warplanes participated in the attack, dropping more than 10 bombs that hit the target within seconds.
It was noted that only one target was hit, and aerial refueling operations were carried out, while the pilots returned to Israel safely.
The Hebrew newspaper Yisrael Hayom reported that during the past year, the option of assassinating senior Hamas leaders in Doha was proposed by security officials at the political level, in the manner executed today through the airstrike.
The newspaper indicated, as SadaNews translated, that the political level had rejected the execution for various reasons, particularly due to disagreements with American officials, but it seems that a green light was given in recent weeks, likely following Ron Dermer's meeting in the United States with senior officials there.
The Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that heavy bombs were used, dropped by warplanes flying 1800 kilometers from Israel to ensure the elimination of senior Hamas officials.
The American network CNN reported, citing Israeli sources, that planning for the historic operation took several months, with its pace accelerating in recent weeks.
The Operations Division began a secret operation for the battle that included preparatory discussions lasting nearly two days, with a weekly meeting held for senior officials from the Shin Bet, military intelligence, and the Operations Division of the General Staff.
Last night, the head of the Operations Division, Itzik Levi, gave the green light for the attack, while the Operations Division raised the level of alert and preparedness to assess how the operation's results would affect the situation in the region, specifically in the Gaza Strip.
This contradicts the statements made by Netanyahu and Katz, who said that the decision to attack was made after the Jerusalem attack.
