Jerusalem.. Conclusion of the Preparatory Events for the "Maghreb Neighborhood" Session of the Annual Summer Camp for Children of Jerusalem in the Kingdom of Morocco

SadaNews - The preparatory events for the sixteenth session of the summer camp for the children of Jerusalem, titled "Maghreb Neighborhood", concluded yesterday, Saturday, in Jerusalem. This camp is hosted annually by the Kingdom of Morocco, under the high patronage of the Moroccan King Mohammed VI, President of the Jerusalem Committee, with the presence of officials from the Education Directorate in Jerusalem and the families of the participating children.

The session, organized by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, with support and partnership from the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication – Youth Sector, will take place from August 10 to 26, 2025. It combines recreation and entertainment, educational and cultural trips, and meetings for acquaintance and exchange between Palestinian children and their Moroccan peers.

As in previous sessions, 50 boys and girls aged between 11 and 14 were selected from a list of 450 candidates by a selection committee composed of representatives from the Education Directorate in Jerusalem, social workers, and five specialized professionals who will accompany them to Morocco for this unique experience.

The official program of the session will be inaugurated on Tuesday morning, August 12, with the launch of summer school activities organized by the agency for Moroccan and Palestinian children, focusing on the theme: "Let’s make electronic games a means of education, learning, and entertainment." The activities will be led by experts specialized in fields of protective education, artificial intelligence, and responsible entertainment through electronic games, via interactive workshops and practical applications.

Additionally, the program includes artistic and sports competitions where the children of Jerusalem will compete against their Moroccan counterparts. They will also embark on sightseeing visits to the cities of Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Tetouan, Mdiq, and Chefchaouen, exploring historical landmarks and learning about several important economic projects in the Kingdom, including infrastructure and major sports projects.

As every year, the children of Jerusalem are keen to share their joy with Moroccans during the national holidays coinciding with their time in Morocco, featuring selected artistic segments where they especially sing the Moroccan national anthem and parts of the song "The Call of Hassan", accompanied by choreographed performances inspired by Palestinian heritage and popular "Dabke" dances.
