Rubio Discusses Regional Issues with British and French Counterparts
SadaNews - U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, discussed the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, the Iranian nuclear file, and the Ukrainian war with his British counterpart David Lammy and French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot.
This came during two phone calls, according to a statement issued by the U.S. State Department on Tuesday.
The statement mentioned that Rubio discussed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza with Lammy and the efforts being made to reach a ceasefire.
The two ministers also agreed on their commitment to end the war between Russia and Ukraine.
In his call with the French counterpart, Rubio discussed the issue of preventing Iran from possessing nuclear weapons.
They also talked about efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza, end the war between Russia and Ukraine, the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and the conflict in Sudan.
While negotiations were ongoing between Tehran and Washington regarding the nuclear file, Israel launched an attack on Iran on June 13, disrupting negotiations with both the United States and Europe.
The war on Gaza has resulted in over 210,000 Palestinians being martyred or injured, most of whom are children and women, with more than 9,000 missing, in addition to hundreds of thousands of displaced people and famine that has claimed many lives.
