Nicaragua's Ambassador to Palestine: Immediate Halt to Genocide and Starvation in Gaza is Necessary
SadaNews - The Ambassador of the Republic of Nicaragua to Palestine, Gadiiel Maireena, emphasized the urgent need to immediately stop the genocide and war of starvation in the Gaza Strip, expressing the solidarity of his people and government with the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination. He affirmed Nicaragua's steadfast and enduring position on the just Palestinian cause until freedom, sovereignty, and true independence are achieved.
This came during Maireena's visit to the Department of Expatriates in the Palestine Liberation Organization, where he met with the Director General of the department, Hussein Abdul Khaleq, and the department's advisor responsible for the Latin America file, Dr. Mai Kela.
The ambassador was briefed on the latest Palestinian developments amidst the ongoing Israeli genocide against our people, which has claimed over 59,000 martyrs and 145 wounded since October 7, 2023, amid the complete destruction of the sector's infrastructure, schools, universities, hospitals, and residential neighborhoods.
The ongoing and escalating Israeli violations in the West Bank were also reviewed, as well as the increased frequency of assaults by settlers against our people's properties, and the steps taken by the occupation government to impose Israeli sovereignty over the West Bank.
During the meeting, the Palestinian side affirmed the strong bilateral relations between Palestine and Nicaragua, praising the role of the Republic of Nicaragua, under the leadership of President Daniel Ortega, as one of the most prominent political supporters of the Palestinian cause in international forums, and its steadfast position in supporting our people and their legitimate rights to freedom, independence, and self-determination.
