Ten Days After the Visit of the U.S. Ambassador: Settlers Attack Taybe Again (Photos)

SadaNews Follow-up - This morning, Monday, settlers attacked the town of Taybe, east of Ramallah, burning two vehicles and writing racist slogans on the walls.

This attack comes just 10 days after a visit by U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, to the town of Taybe to assess the situation there after settler assaults.

It was the first visit by the U.S. ambassador to a Palestinian area in the West Bank since taking office in November 2024.

Huckabee wrote on X platform after his visit to Taybe following the settlers' attack: "I will demand accountability for those responsible for the assaults and hold them to severe consequences."

Despite his visit, which symbolically rejects the settlers' attack on the town that targeted a church and a cemetery, the settlers are again launching attacks, disregarding the U.S. visit, and no arrests or accountability for the settlers responsible for these crimes have been recorded.

Regarding the details of the new attack on Taybe, local sources reported that settlers infiltrated the town early Monday morning, attacked citizens' homes, set two vehicles on fire, causing them to burn completely, and wrote racist and threatening slogans on the outer wall of one of the houses.

The sources added that the occupation forces, with several military vehicles, stormed the town following the attack.

On June 4th, settlers established a new colonial outpost on the ruins of a Palestinian family’s homes that were evacuated about a year ago, after a series of violent attacks in the town of Taybe.

On July 7th, settlers set fire near the historic St. George Cemetery and Church in the town, sparking widespread church and international reactions that condemned the settlers’ assaults on holy sites and places of worship.

On July 14th, several patriarchs and heads of churches in Jerusalem, along with diplomats from more than 20 Arab and foreign countries, visited the town of Taybe amid the alarming increase in settler attacks on the town, its properties, and its sanctities, particularly the Christian churches and cemeteries.
