Turkey's Foreign Minister Calls for an End to Israeli Aggression Against Gaza and the Region

SadaNews - Turkey's Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Israel does not want peace or stability in the region, warning of the consequences of not curbing Israel's aggressive strategy.

Fidan emphasized during a speech at an emergency session of the UN Security Council, held to discuss the humanitarian situation in Gaza, that Israel continues to commit genocide against the Palestinian people while the Security Council session is taking place.

The Turkish Foreign Minister said, "Not a single principle of international humanitarian law remains unviolated by Israel," affirming that the occupying state uses hunger as a weapon in its war against the Palestinians in Gaza.

He added, "There is no need to beat around the bush. Let's face the truth. After 80 years, the world is once again witnessing the return of concentration camps. There is an ongoing campaign of extermination against an entire people."

Fidan pointed out that the Israeli war machine continues to target children trying to get water for their families and mothers searching for food for their children.

He continued, "This is a machine that feeds on hatred and impunity, as well as on unconditional support from some."

Fidan stressed the necessity of allowing humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, stating that the only effective way to deliver aid is through the United Nations.

He said, "Aid must reach through all existing crossings, in accordance with international humanitarian law and in full coordination with the United Nations, timely and adequately, and without any obstacles." He added, "The fundamental principles of humanitarian aid, which are humanity, neutrality, non-discrimination, and independence, must be protected."

He pointed out that recognition of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state remains crucial for achieving lasting peace in the Middle East.
