Sweida: Forces of the Interior and Defense Ministries to begin entering the city center of Sweida

SadaNews - The head of internal security in Sweida governorate, Major General Ahmed Al-Dalati, announced that the forces of the Interior and Defense Ministries will begin to enter the center of Sweida city.

Al-Dalati stated, "In an effort to enhance security and stability in Sweida governorate, following the bloody events that the city witnessed, the forces of the Interior and Defense Ministries will commence entering the center of Sweida city, to protect civilians and restore security."

He also announced a "curfew in the city starting from 8 AM until further notice to ensure the safety of our residents in the city."

Furthermore, the media and communication department in the Syrian Ministry of Defense stated that the army continues to pursue unlawful groups in the vicinity of Sweida city, and urged "our people in the city of Sweida to remain at home and report any movements of unlawful groups that may resort to using residential neighborhoods as a base for their operations."
The media and communication department of the Ministry of Defense indicated that the Syrian Arab Army continues its operations aimed at establishing stability and security, noting that the unlawful groups are trying to escape confrontation by retreating to the center of Sweida city.

On the third day of confrontations in Sweida governorate, violent clashes were recorded tonight on four fronts including Thaila Airport, with the advancing government forces, while the number of dead neared 100.

The "Sweida News" network reported that the city of Sweida is being targeted by mortar shells and rockets, while no reports of injuries have emerged so far. These developments come with renewed clashes in the vicinity of Knaikar village, where loud explosions and heavy gunfire are heard.

Meanwhile, government forces advanced in a military assault launched from two main axes (Busr Al-Harir - Taara, and Um Walad - Knaikar), where fierce clashes took place with local residents, resulting in dozens of dead and wounded, including civilians, according to the "Sweida 24" network.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated today, Tuesday, that the death toll has risen due to armed clashes and mutual shelling in Sweida governorate since the morning of Sunday, July 13, reaching 99 dead, including two children and two women, who were: 60 from Sweida, including two children and two women, 18 from the Bedouins of Sweida, 14 from the Ministry of Defense, and 7 unidentified individuals wearing military uniforms, in addition to dozens of wounded, including children, some of whom are in critical condition.
