Arrest of a Citizen from Bethlehem and Theft of Gold Jewelry
SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces arrested a citizen today, Tuesday, and stole gold jewelry during their raid on the city of Bethlehem, coinciding with a campaign of incursions that included several camps and towns in the governorate.
According to press sources, the occupation forces arrested citizen Muflih Zawahra following the storming and search of his home in the Wadi al-Jamal area in the center of Bethlehem.
The sources indicated that the soldiers, during the search operation, stole gold jewelry valued at 10,000 shekels.
The occupation forces also stormed the Dar Hamid area in the city and conducted inspection and analysis operations on the surveillance cameras installed on the facades of houses and commercial shops.
The incursions extended to include the Aida, Al-Duheisha, and Al-Izza camps, in addition to the cities of Beit Sahour and Beit Jala, and the towns of Al-Khadr, Artas, Janata, and others, with no additional house raids or arrests reported in those locations up to the time of preparing the news.
The occupation forces also set up a military checkpoint at the western entrance to the western countryside of Bethlehem governorate.
Local sources reported that the occupation forces established a military checkpoint under the "Bridge" in the Aqbat Hassaneh area, the main western entrance to the towns of Battir and Nahalin and to the villages of Husan and Wadi Fukin, where vehicles were stopped, searched, and citizens' identities checked, causing traffic congestion in the area.
The Bethlehem governorate is witnessing a noticeable escalation in the pace of night incursions, thefts, and violations against civilians and their properties, as part of the ongoing occupation policy to intimidate residents and impose security control.
