From An-Najah University to Oxford Horizons… Student Omar Rabi from the College of Medicine and Allied Medical Sciences Completes Clinical Training at the John Radcliffe Hospital in the United Kingdom

SadaNews - As a Palestinian medical student in my final years at An-Najah National University, my experience at the John Radcliffe Hospital affiliated with the University of Oxford was a transformative step in my career. During this time, I learned the latest techniques in ophthalmology and had the opportunity to learn and work alongside a select group of distinguished physicians who fueled my passion for the specialty..

This experience was a valuable milestone in enhancing my professional future, as I participated in many events that allowed me to develop my skills, most notably attending the annual conference of the Ocular Genetics Group, where I met several prominent professors and experts from across the country, enabling me to build valuable relationships to enhance my future academic and professional prospects.

This experience was not only about gaining practical expertise but also about achieving a new milestone by qualifying to participate in a wound suturing and surgical skills competition, which will be held in mid-August of this year at the University of Oxford. This achievement came after being selected from among 700 students across Palestine, reaching the final stage as one of only seven students.

This opportunity has given me hope for my contribution to the development of medicine in Palestine and has proven to me that challenges do not stand in the way of ambition and determination.
