Abu Rubb Discusses Escalating Occupation Crimes in Palestine with the Ambassadors of Sierra Leone and Colombia in Qatar

SadaNews - Ambassador Faiz Abu Rubb, the Palestinian Ambassador to the State of Qatar, held two separate meetings at the Palestinian Embassy in Doha with His Excellency Ahmed Tijjan Fadhl al-Din, the Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone, and Her Excellency Odette Yedi David, the newly accredited Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia to the State of Qatar.

The meetings addressed the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, amid the ongoing Israeli aggression, which has thus far resulted in nearly 200,000 martyrs, wounded, and missing, most of whom are women, children, and the elderly, alongside comprehensive destruction of infrastructure and the forcible displacement of nearly two million Palestinians.

Ambassador Abu Rubb pointed to the "death traps" practiced by the occupation forces through their control over the introduction of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, describing it as a horrific and systematic crime in which Israel uses starvation as a weapon of mass destruction, alongside ongoing incursions, field executions, home demolitions, theft of Palestinian funds, and escalating assaults by settlers supported by the occupation army.

In this context, Abu Rubb addressed the continuous violations in the city of Jerusalem, including the closure of Palestinian institutions, tightening restrictions on access to Al-Aqsa Mosque, and demolishing homes in various neighborhoods of the city, emphasizing that these policies expose the nature of the occupation system based on colonization and apartheid.

Abu Rubb warned that those who support the genocide government in Israel are opposing human values and justice, not those who expose its crimes. He stressed that the Palestinian people, despite the heavy price, are committed to their national rights and sovereignty over their land.

The ambassador called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities, to stop all forms of military and economic support for the occupation, to end cooperation with settlements, to adhere to international law, and to the Fourth Geneva Convention, calling for accountability of war criminals and achieving international justice.

For their part, the ambassadors of Sierra Leone and Colombia expressed their countries' full solidarity with the Palestinian people, reiterating their governments' positions in support of Palestinian national rights, foremost among them the right to self-determination and the realization of an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

At the end of the meeting, Ambassador Abu Rubb congratulated the Colombian ambassador on her appointment, wishing her success in her duties, and affirming the importance of continuing cooperation and coordination with the friendly countries in international forums to support the Palestinian cause and stop the crimes committed against our people.
