Al-Hilal Rewards Its Players After Eliminating Manchester City
SadaNews - The Saudi Al-Hilal Club rewarded its players with substantial financial bonuses following the historic victory over English Manchester City with a score of 4-3 in the Round of 16 of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, securing a spot in the quarter-finals.
According to the Saudi newspaper "Al-Riyadiyah", the administration of Al-Hilal decided to grant each player a financial reward of two million Saudi Riyals, in appreciation of their heroic performance and fighting spirit against the European champion, in one of the tournament's most thrilling matches.
On the other hand, the same newspaper revealed that the chances of Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrović participating in the quarter-final match against Brazilian Fluminense are almost non-existent due to injury.
Mitrović suffered a calf muscle injury two days before Al-Hilal's first tournament match against Real Madrid, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Since then, he has not been able to return to team training.
Al-Hilal kicked off its campaign in the current edition of the FIFA Club World Cup with an exciting 1-1 draw against Real Madrid, followed by a goalless draw against Austrian Red Bull Salzburg, before securing its advancement from the group stage with a 2-0 victory over Mexican Pachuca.
In the Round of 16, the team continued its brilliance by eliminating Manchester City in a dramatic encounter that ended 4-3, setting up a strong showdown in the quarter-finals against Brazilian Fluminense, in what is considered one of the tournament's highlight matches.
