Palestinian Statistics: Decrease in the Number of Building Permits Issued in Palestine During the Fourth Quarter of 2025 Compared to the Third Quarter of 2025
SadaNews - The number of permits issued in Palestine during the fourth quarter of 2025 decreased by 3% compared to the third quarter of 2025, with no building permits issued in the Gaza Strip during the same period. Additionally, the number of permits issued in Palestine recorded an increase of 11% compared to the corresponding quarter of 2024. The percentage decrease in the number of new building permits was 7% compared to the third quarter of 2025, while it increased by 31% compared to the corresponding quarter of 2024.
The total number of building permits issued for residential and non-residential buildings reached 2,120 permits during the fourth quarter of 2025, including 1,354 new building permits.
The total area of licensed buildings (residential and non-residential) amounted to 1,157 thousand square meters, including 983 thousand square meters for new buildings and 174 thousand square meters for existing buildings.
The number of licensed housing units reached 4,348 housing units with a total area of 704 thousand square meters, including 3,694 new housing units covering an area of 597 thousand square meters, and 654 existing housing units with a total area of 107 thousand square meters.
The number of new housing units recorded a decrease of 3% during the fourth quarter of 2025 compared to the previous quarter of 2025, and an increase of 22% compared to the corresponding quarter of 2024.
