The overall producer price index recorded a sharp increase of 6.61% during January 2026 compared to December 2025, reaching an index of 195.30 in January 2026 compared to 183.18 in December 2025 (base year 2019 = 100).

The producer price index for goods consumed locally from domestic production recorded a sharp increase of 6.96%, reaching 203.70 in January 2026 compared to 190.44 in December 2025 (base year 2019 = 100).

The producer price index for exported goods during January 2026

The producer price index for exported goods from domestic production recorded an increase of 1.27%, reaching 116.90 in January 2026 compared to 115.43 in December 2025 (base year 2019 = 100).

Movement of Producer Prices in Key Activities During January 2026

Prices of goods produced from agriculture, forestry, and fishing, which represent a relative importance of 29.94% of the producer basket, rose by 12.53%, due to the sharp increase in the prices of goods in the non-permanent crop farming sector by 19.04%, where the average price of both cauliflower and cabbage reached 3.73 shekels/kg each, plastic house tomatoes at 6.77 shekels/kg, plastic house cucumbers at 2.91 shekels/kg, eggplants at 4.20 shekels/kg, hot green peppers at 11.27 shekels/kg, and sweet green peppers at 4.28 shekels/kg, despite a decrease in the average price of green beans to 5.35 shekels/kg, local green peas to 5.37 shekels/kg, and okra to 33.58 shekels/kg.

Prices of goods in the permanent crop farming sector increased by 8.22%, with the average price for avocados being 1.85 shekels/kg, oranges at 2.65 shekels/kg, pomelo at 3.23 shekels/kg, and strawberries at 10.03 shekels/kg, despite a decrease in the average price of dates to 6.10 shekels/kg.

Prices of goods in the livestock production sector recorded an increase of 1.37%, where the average price for live local calves reached 25.15 shekels/kg, live local sheep at 43.03 shekels/kg, and live local goats at 35.80 shekels/kg.

Meanwhile, prices of goods in the fishing sector recorded a sharp decrease of 20.56%.

Prices of goods produced from manufacturing activities, which represent a relative importance of 58.92% of the producer basket, decreased by 1.13%, due to a decline in average prices of goods produced in the following sectors: grain mill products by 24.61%, and vegetable and animal oils and fats by 4.55%, despite an increase in average prices of goods produced in the following sectors: chemicals and chemical products by 3.66%, bakery products by 1.17%, and fabricated metal products excluding machinery and equipment by 0.68%.

Prices of water supply and sewage activities and waste management and treatment, which represent a relative importance of 1.50% of the producer basket, decreased by 0.85% during January 2026.

Prices of products from the mining and quarrying sector, which represent a relative importance of 1.41% of the producer basket, as well as prices of electricity, gas, steam supply, and air conditioning, which represent a relative importance of 8.23% of the producer basket, remained stable during January 2026.
