Arab Bank Renewed Cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development Coinciding with the Arrival of the Holy Month of Ramadan
SadaNews - The Arab Bank has renewed its cooperation with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development for the sixth consecutive year by providing more than 2,000 food parcels to needy families, coinciding with the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan. This cooperation comes as part of the bank's social responsibility program and its commitment to supporting food security and enhancing the values of social solidarity.
Under this cooperation, the food parcels have been distributed through the directorates of the Ministry of Social Development in eight different governorates including Jenin, Tulkarem, Qalqilya, Nablus, Tubas, Salfit, Yatta, and Ramallah, according to the mechanisms and standards adopted by the ministry to ensure that assistance reaches deserving families. A number of Arab Bank employees also participated in a volunteer activity to help package and prepare the food parcels as part of the bank's commitment to engage its employees in various volunteer activities and enhance their spirit of giving and social responsibility.
In this context, Dr. Jamal Hourani, Director of the Palestinian Area at the Arab Bank, stated: "This initiative embodies the bank's commitment to supporting national efforts aimed at assisting needy families, especially during the holy month of Ramadan," pointing out the importance of cooperation with the Ministry of Social Development and unifying efforts to help alleviate the living burdens on targeted groups and enhance integration between the public and private sectors.
For her part, Dr. Sumah Hamad, Minister of Social Development, stated: "We appreciate this generous initiative from the Arab Bank, which reflects the awareness of the banking sector of its important social role, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. This cooperation contributes to strengthening national efforts to support poor and needy families, and confirms the importance of cooperation with private sector institutions to ensure that aid reaches its rightful beneficiaries equitably and transparently." The ministry affirmed its ongoing coordination with various institutions to enhance the social protection system and support the most vulnerable groups in society, especially in seasons that require collective efforts.
It is worth noting that the Arab Bank adopts a comprehensive and integrated strategy in the field of sustainability and social responsibility, emanating from its commitment to achieving a tangible positive impact on both economic and social levels, alongside its commitment to sustainable environmental practices. The "Together" program for social responsibility embodies this direction by supporting a range of diverse initiatives and activities that contribute to vital sectors including education, health, poverty alleviation, environmental protection, women's empowerment, and orphan care, through joint efforts with local community institutions.
