Aseefour Calls Out to the World: Gaza is Deprived of Flour and Life

Economy SadaNews - Under the auspices and participation of Minister of Industry Mr. Aref Aseefour, the Consumer Protection Association organized a specialized workshop titled: "The Loaf: Between Consumer Rights and Quality Assurance."

The Minister emphasized in his speech during the opening of the workshop that discussing the loaf of bread and its quality cannot be separated from the Palestinian reality, affirming that the Palestinian suffering is present, and that the besieged Gaza represents the epitome of this pain, as it suffers from systematic deprivation of wheat, flour, and a decent life.

Aseefour added, "In Gaza, the loaf is absent, mothers do not find flour for their children, and bakers cannot find what to fuel their ovens. This hunger is not a choice, but a decision made by an occupier who believes that breaking the will of a people is achieved by starving them."

He stated that the bread-making industry is not merely a food process; it represents a cornerstone of national food security and a deeply rooted economic identity. He assured that the Ministry of Industry is working to raise the quality of local products to be the first choice for consumers, within a strategic vision that includes safety, high specifications, and reasonable pricing.

Minister Aseefour pointed to the necessity of achieving a balance between consumers' rights to access healthy and safe bread and the rights of bakers to a fair and stable working environment.

He concluded his speech by greeting everyone who produces, cultivates, and bakes in Palestine, saying: "From Gaza we begin, and with it we conclude. Let Gaza be our beacon and motivation, so that no Palestinian is deprived of their most basic rights: a loaf, a life, and sovereignty."

This workshop comes as part of the Ministry of Industry's directions to support national production chains, and to enhance partnership with the private sector and civil society institutions, ensuring food security and protecting the Palestinian consumer.
