The Truth About Iranian Nuclear and Hamas Weapons
In all the conflicts and wars instigated by Netanyahu since his first term in 1996, particularly during his second term in 2009, he claimed that they were aimed at confronting the existential threat facing Israel from Iran and the possibility of it acquiring nuclear weapons, as well as from Hamas and its rockets and tunnels.
Netanyahu has urged world nations to confront this alleged threat, with his latest success being dragging Trump into participating in the annihilation campaign in Gaza and launching a devastating war on Iran. Is Israel truly existentially threatened by these two powers, or is there another reason for its wars?
As for the pretext of the Iranian nuclear issue; no sane person would believe that the reason for Israel's attacks on it is that it is on the verge of producing nuclear bombs that would annihilate Israel and threaten even America and Europe - as claimed by Trump and Netanyahu. Even if Iran were to acquire nuclear weapons, it is unreasonable to think it would use them to attack Israel, which is vastly superior in nuclear capabilities, or to strike Washington, the "greatest nation" in the world? Even if it possessed them, they would be for defense and deterrence, not for attacking others; there are countries in the world that have acquired nuclear weapons and have not used them in their wars, such as India, Pakistan, and Russia. Therefore, Iran’s nuclear weapon is just a myth, like the myth of weapons of mass destruction in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq to justify its invasion and occupation, and we wrote in January 2010 an article titled "What if Iran acquired nuclear weapons?" refuting Israel's lies on this matter.
Regarding Hamas's weapons; everyone knows how the movement began with the Islamic Association in the 1970s with Israeli licensing, how weapons entered it from underground and above, and sometimes through the borders with Israel’s knowledge, how Hamas showcased its forces and rockets in the streets of Gaza, developed its missile capabilities, and tested them in the Gaza Sea in plain sight of Israel, how it staged a coup in 2007 using all its military capabilities without Israeli interference, and how funds entered Hamas through Qatar and other countries with Israeli consent as well.
Is it rational to think that Israel - with its military, technological, and intelligence capabilities that have destroyed and eliminated the majority of the military capacities of Iran and Hezbollah, and killed their top leaders, and violated the territory of the Syrian state - was unaware of what the movement was planning on October 7, 2023 (the Al-Aqsa Flood), and it has yet to put an end to Hamas's military presence in the Gaza Strip nor can it assassinate Hamas leaders abroad who move freely?
What has been mentioned does not necessarily imply collusion between Iran and Hamas on one hand and America and Israel on the other; each of the first two parties has its own project and goals. It can even be said that Israel has been able to leverage the inflated and exaggerated narrative claiming Israel’s destruction and the absence of Arab, Islamic, and Palestinian consensus on the projects of Iran and Hamas, to incite many countries around the world - especially America - against them, employing the mistakes of Iran and Hamas and the fears of Arab nations through a massive media machine.
What Israel and America (during Trump's term) seek to achieve is to fulfill their strategic ambitions in bringing about geopolitical changes in the Middle East that ensure complete American hegemony and eliminate all resistances to the establishment of the "Greater Israel" prophesied state, a goal that remains elusive even with all the military achievements they have made, with the most significant element of resistance being the steadfastness and presence of the Palestinian people on their historical land.
