After the War, Palestinians Will Face the Occupation Alone
While we recognize the seriousness of what is happening in the region, particularly the ongoing confrontation between Iran and the American-Israeli alliance, and the preoccupation of the world, Arab media, Arab intellectuals, researchers, and Palestinians with this war and its geopolitical and economic repercussions, we must not overlook what is happening in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as well as with Palestinians in 1948, and we should not give the enemy the opportunity to distract everyone with regional wars, thereby slipping into what the occupation desires and achieving its objectives unknowingly by obscuring the root of the conflict.
This situation requires Palestinian researchers, intellectuals, and journalists, specifically Palestinian think tanks, to focus on the Palestinian issue and the internal situation, by establishing a common national vision to confront the enemy’s schemes and reforming the entire Palestinian political system. It also necessitates discussing the leadership’s policies, which are marked by confusion and a lack of clarity regarding the general elections, holding the eighth conference of Fatah, and reforming the Palestinian Authority and its financial crisis, without leaving these issues solely to be handled by the ruling elites.
Once the guns fall silent and the current war ends, whether through the victory of one side over the other or reaching settlements, Palestinians will return to face the reality of occupation alone. The situation and challenges will be even more difficult following the collapse of the unity of the arenas and the resistance axis and the entrenchment of the failure of the entire Arab and Islamic system, including the regimes, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and even the United Nations.
