The Flood of Settlement and Displacement in the West Bank

The looting and plundering of Palestinians has become normal, with everything they own—land, money, livestock, and homes—being taken from them. The right-wing government has unleashed what can be called the flood of displacement and settlement, practically pushing the entire Palestinian people to respond so as to raise global awareness about the genocide in Gaza through a so-called Palestinian response. Moreover, some Israeli analysts and officers are publishing scenarios of expected Palestinian attacks on settlements as if they are instructing potential perpetrators on how to commit a massacre to justify the harsh Israeli response later on. Perhaps some may even be encouraged to act on their behalf.

Netanyahu has deliberately facilitated and financed the Al-Aqsa flood operation, ignoring its thwarting despite being aware of the preparations for it and its timing, all to respond with an extermination war. Currently, the rampant violations in the West Bank are intended to provoke a response.

In practice, Israel does not want the Palestinian National Authority to survive. It has been working since before the war to undermine it and drain it of its powers, embezzling its funds. Thus, there is a deficit in salary payments, the poverty line has risen to encompass the majority of the population, official working days have been reduced to a few, public hospitals are devoid of medicines, school hours have been cut down, and textbooks for the second semester have not been distributed due to unpaid printing costs for the printing houses. The debts of the authority have accumulated, exceeding 15 billion dollars, with no creditors in sight and no donors either, as the Trump veto on Arab support for the authority has been in effect since his first term.

Those who practically rule the world now are the "Island of the Devil" and its clients, along with those surrounding them—bloodsuckers of human lives and wealth, equipped with advanced technology and exceeding the law of the jungle in their brutality.

At the same time, the fifth column emerges, waiting for direct occupation to enter the governorate building, licking the boots of an Israeli officer, and joining the ranks of Hamas, which cares solely about fabricating lies against the Palestine Liberation Organization. There are also renegades who have held positions within the authority, amassing power and wealth, only to descend to the lowest of the low among ministers, agents, and business magnates, who have all taken their share, while others await their turn based on the ill-gotten gains from their corruption. In the absence of a preemptive blow to nepotism and corruption, the situation has become flabby.

In the absence of a miserable Arab role, subjected to Trump’s whims, and the subservience of Hamas, supported by Turkey and Qatar, to remain under Trump’s control, one can imagine that the displacement and settlement flood will soon peak. Just as Hamas resorted to what it called military resolution in Gaza and took control of it, the occupation is executing military resolution in the West Bank against the Palestinian people through settlement and displacement.

The rampant violations in the West Bank and the Israeli registration of land in two-thirds of the West Bank, alongside the cancellation of Palestinian land agreements and Jordanian law, indicate total impunity. As for any expected response, there are no Arab or Palestinian programs in place; things are managed in disarray.
