The Palestinian Political Class is Not Immune to Infiltration
It is true that the Palestinian people are distinguished by their struggle, resilience, and the justice of their cause; however, the political system—comprising two authorities, a political class, and parties—does not truly reflect or fully represent the greatness of the people and the justice of their cause.
Since the parties and resistance factions have become the authority and government in Gaza and the West Bank, they are closer to Arab regimes than to national liberation movements. Because of this, the political system, the ruling class, and the parties lack the necessary revolutionary immunity, whether in facing attempts of Zionist infiltration or external Arab and regional entities.
If Israel, with its vast technological and intelligence capabilities, and in collaboration with Washington, has infiltrated Hezbollah and recruited high-level officials for its benefit, leading to the assassination of senior leaders of the party, as well as having recruited numerous individuals and political and security officials in Iran which resulted in the assassination of prominent nuclear scientists and military leaders. Moreover, it has also strategically infiltrated Arab countries, especially the Gulf states, and in Iraq and Syria through high-level security agreements. The same applies to jihadist Islamic groups, some of which are products of Washington and the West, such as the Muslim Brotherhood, Al-Qaeda, ISIS, and Al-Nusra. So why should we exclude the possibility of Israel infiltrating the political system and the Palestinian factions operating in the occupied territories, which are functioning under the gaze of the occupation army and its intelligence agencies? This also extends to potentially infiltrating or influencing some individuals from the prisoner movement in occupation prisons and recruiting some of its elements inside the prison to carry out tasks in favor of Israel after their release? And this does not only concern imprisoned Hamas leaders but also those leaders living abroad who travel between the US base in Al-Udeid, Qatar, and Turkey, a NATO member state. Could this not extend to cases within other factions and the political class?!
This matter is not limited to security infiltration but also includes an equally dangerous aspect: the infiltration of consciousness, manipulation of minds, and skepticism towards national constants. This is what some media platforms and Arabic-speaking satellite channels, directed by hostile entities, are doing.
The practices and statements of some (leaders) and officials in the factions recently, along with the current situation in Gaza, reinforce these doubts; and if it is not treason, it is a form of ignorance and strategic political folly that is no less dangerous than treason!
