Iran Announces Suspension of Military Operations and Israel Remains Silent

SadaNews - The Iranian Quds Force announced on Monday the suspension of armed operations against Israel.

This came shortly after U.S. President Donald Trump called on Iran and Israel to halt attacks immediately.

The Iranian Quds Force stated that its forces executed a painful response against Israel following its attacks on the Lebanese people.

It emphasized that attacks will be resumed vigorously if Israeli assaults in Lebanon, particularly in the southern region, are renewed.

Israel has not commented on the Iranian announcement.

Channel 12 reported that Iran is trying to establish new bases in southern Lebanon to prepare for attacks should Israel carry out any operations in those areas.

According to the channel, Iran aims to pressure Trump into compelling Israel to halt its attacks comprehensively.

Earlier, Trump urged Iran and Israel to "stop fighting immediately" after hours of renewed mutual shelling between the two sides.

Trump wrote on his Truth Social account, "Israel and Iran must stop fighting immediately."

Trump pressured Israel to cease its attacks in Lebanon to allow space for reaching an agreement to end the broader war with Iran, with the pressure peaking when he reprimanded Netanyahu in harsh terms during a phone call last week.

However, Israel carried out airstrikes on Beirut's southern suburbs on Sunday for the first time since the U.S. announced a truce plan in Lebanon days ago.
