The Occupation Extends Its Aggression on Tulkarem and Nur Shams Camps Until the End of July 2026
SadaNews - Tulkarem Governor Major General Dr. Abdullah Kmeil emphasized that the decision by the occupying forces to extend aggression against the residents of Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps until 31/7/2026 represents a continued perpetration of crimes against citizens and a continuation of the suffering of thousands of families who have faced forced displacement due to this ongoing aggression.
The governor, Major General Dr. Kmeil, confirmed that the actions undertaken by the occupying forces, including demolitions of homes and commercial properties, the destruction of infrastructure, and acts of vandalism and leveling that have targeted the camps' landmarks, reflect a systematic policy aimed at undermining the Palestinian people and their resilience, exacerbating the difficult humanitarian and economic conditions that citizens are experiencing.
The governor, Major General Dr. Kmeil, noted that the continuation of the aggression and the imposed closures on the camps and their surroundings deprive citizens of their basic human rights and further intensify the daily suffering faced by displaced families amid the exceptional circumstances the governorate is going through.
He renewed his call for international organizations and humanitarian and rights bodies to intervene urgently to stop this aggression and the violations committed by the occupying forces against our people, stressing that the continued assaults on Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps worsen the suffering of citizens who are facing extremely difficult humanitarian and economic conditions due to forced displacement.
The governor, Major General Dr. Kmeil, clarified that the effects of these actions are not limited to the camps only but extend to various areas of Tulkarem governorate, negatively impacting the lives, movement, and economic activities of citizens, amid the severe damage caused by the aggression to homes, properties, and infrastructure.
He stressed the necessity of the international community moving to assume its legal and humanitarian responsibilities toward what our people are facing in general, and our people in Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps specifically, and to work on providing protection for them and stopping the policies of collective punishment and the ongoing violations carried out by the occupation against citizens and their properties, confirming that the steadfastness of our people and their adherence to their land and rights will always remain stronger than the occupation and its aggression.
