Martyrs and Injuries in the Incident.. Israel Targets the New Hamas Military Leader in Gaza

Translation and coverage by SadaNews - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced on Tuesday evening an operation targeting Mohammed Awda, the new commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas.

According to the joint statement, Awda is one of the architects of the October 7, 2023 attack and was responsible for the kidnapping and killing of Israelis. He took over the leadership of the Al-Qassam Brigades following the assassination of Izz ad-Din al-Qassam more than a week ago.

A residential apartment was severely hit by Israeli airstrikes in the Al-Rimal neighborhood in the middle of Gaza City.

At least one woman was martyred, and no less than 18 others were injured in the violent raids that targeted the apartment.

The bombing caused massive destruction in the area filled with shops and civilians who were shopping.
