Absence and Disconnected Communication.. Is the Leader Delaying the Final Moments of the Iran Agreement?

SadaNews - CBS News revealed that the delay in announcing the anticipated agreement between the United States and Iran is attributed to the difficulty in communicating with the Iranian Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, who is living in a secret hideout under tight security measures.

The network reported that informed U.S. officials stated that Khamenei is "effectively trapped" in an undisclosed location, and he can only be reached through a complex network of intermediaries and couriers, which hinders the speed of response to U.S. proposals.

Officials added that the Iranian officials involved in the negotiations are facing significant difficulties in communication within Iranian state institutions, which has caused a slowdown in the progress of the talks.

According to a senior U.S. administration official, Mojtaba Khamenei has agreed to the outlines of the current draft agreement, while U.S. President Donald Trump expects the agreement to be finalized in the coming days.

The network pointed out that Mojtaba Khamenei was injured during the U.S. and Israeli strikes that targeted Iran on February 28, which resulted in the death of his father, former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Since then, Khamenei has not appeared publicly or through any video or audio recordings, amid speculation that he is following strict security measures to avoid being targeted.

Sources confirmed that many Iranian regime leaders are currently residing in fortified shelters and avoid direct communication except in the most limited circumstances, for fear of intelligence breaches.

A U.S. official described the communication scene within the Iranian leadership as "resembling a comedy series", adding that Iranian leaders are living in a state of frustration and confusion due to strict security constraints.
