Occupation demolishes dozens of commercial and industrial facilities in Al-Eizariya

SadaNews - On Monday evening, Israeli occupation forces began demolishing dozens of industrial and commercial facilities in the Mushtal area of the town of Al-Eizariya southeast of occupied Jerusalem.

Local sources estimate that the demolition operations carried out by the occupation's bulldozers have so far affected around 20 industrial and commercial facilities in Al-Eizariya.

The Jerusalem Governorate stated in a brief statement that the demolition operations come despite the existence of a precautionary order for the residents prohibiting the demolition of stores until mid-May of this year. However, the occupation forces continue to carry out demolition operations accompanied by several vehicles, amid the firing of sound and gas bombs towards the citizens, and obstructing traffic in the area.

Recently, the occupation authorities verbally notified about 50 citizens of the necessity to vacate their shops and commercial facilities in the Mushtal area at the main entrance of the town, in preparation for executing previous demolition orders issued against them in August 2025.

According to the data, these shops are threatened with removal as part of a plan to implement the dangerous colonial project known as "Naseej Al-Hayat," which represents a practical implementation of the Israeli annexation plan for the area called "E1," aimed at achieving complete geographical continuity between the "Ma'ale Adumim" settlement and occupied Jerusalem, leading to the separation of northern West Bank from the southern part and swallowing nearly 3% of the area of the West Bank to officially annex it as part of the "Greater Jerusalem" plan.

The catastrophic implications of the project include entrenching a "traffic apartheid" system, whereby Palestinians will be prohibited from using the main road number "1" and will be restricted to an underground tunnel near the military checkpoint of Al-Za'im, while the surface road is exclusively designated for settlers. It will also isolate the communities of Jabal Baba, Wadi Al-Jamal, and the town of Al-Eizariya, and threatens the demolition and eviction of dozens of facilities that have recently received no less than 43 notices in preparation for the expansion of the project.
