Abu Al-Homs: Completion of the Candidates for Released Prisoners in the Central Committee and Revolutionary Council of Fatah

SadaNews - The head of the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, Raed Abu Al-Homs, revealed today, Friday, the completion of the list of released prisoners who will participate in the elections for the Central Committee and the Revolutionary Council of Fatah Movement, at the eighth conference which will be held from May 14 to 16.

Abu Al-Homs explained that the Palestinian leadership and the leadership of the movement honored the released prisoners recently from Fatah, by granting membership to all who spent (20 years or more), allowing for the membership of (388 members), including a number of released female prisoners.

He stated, "For several weeks, we have been working on organizing the situation among the prisoners of the movement who will participate in the conference, and since this is the first time that the membership of released prisoners is this large, we had to demonstrate what is worthy of the size of struggle and sacrifices endured for hundreds and thousands of years that were spent inside prisons and detention centers, and to carry the loyalty for those we left behind, the patient brothers, and to reflect our culture, belonging, and our commitment to the leadership of the movement and its president, and to be part of the decision-making process.”

He added, “The candidates from the prisoners for the Revolutionary Council were chosen based on a proportional equation for the number of released prisoners from each province who are conference members, and this witnessed representation from all provinces without exception from the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem. The list of candidates included harmony and integration between the prisoners inside the homeland and the exiled ones in Cairo.”

As for the candidates for the Central Committee from the released prisoners, Abu Al-Homs indicated that there are four brothers who nominated themselves to have only two chosen, and after long discussions, the four brothers expressed their readiness to participate in internal elections voted on by the conference members among the released prisoners. This was done today, Friday, under the supervision of a committee represented by (Minister Raed Abu Al-Homs, member of the preparatory committee for the eighth conference Fahmi Al-Za'arir, head of the committee of exiled prisoners released prisoner Ramzi Obeid, and head of the Prisoner's Club Abdullah Zghari).
