The Bashar Al-Masri Case: An Official Response to a Lawsuit Filed by Zionist Groups in US Courts
SadaNews - Palestinian-American businessman Bashar Al-Masri has requested the American federal judge in Miami, Florida, to dismiss the lawsuit filed against him and his affiliated Palestinian companies by 323 American plaintiffs representing 80 families of victims and survivors of the events of October 7, 2023.
In the latest developments of the case, the defense team submitted the official legal response to the court, asserting that all allegations in the lawsuit against Al-Masri and his companies are baseless and lack any legal foundation or credible evidence, and that the plaintiffs failed to prove any link or knowledge of Al-Masri being involved in any illegal activities.
The team added that the lawsuit is based on "speculations" attempting to portray Al-Masri and his companies as involved in "international terrorism," merely due to his launching of projects and investments within the Gaza Strip.
According to legal documents, the lawsuit was filed under the American "Anti-Terrorism Act," which allows families of American victims to file civil suits for compensation.
The legal response highlighted that Bashar Al-Masri is known for his role in developing significant developmental projects, most notably Rawabi City in the West Bank, along with his investments in the real estate, energy, and technology sectors, aimed over more than three decades to support the Palestinian economy and enhance development and stability.
Al-Masri had previously confirmed that his investments were made to serve the Palestinian people by creating a supportive economic environment for growth and providing job opportunities.
He also emphasized that these allegations and campaigns would not deter him from continuing his efforts to support the Palestinian people, based on his belief in the importance of strengthening the resilience of the Palestinian community and achieving economic stability.
