Ministry of Health: We Intensify Our Oversight to Ensure Pharmaceutical Security in the Palestinian Market

SadaNews - The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed its continued strict oversight role to ensure that pharmaceutical institutions and drug manufacturers comply with the applicable systems and laws.

The Director-General of the General Administration of Pharmacy, Dr. Tahani Futuh, stated that within the framework of the Ministry of Health's strategy to protect the health of the Palestinian citizen, the General Administration of Pharmacy continues its supervisory role over the pharmaceutical sector. The past two years have seen intensive field activity, including the execution of 6,000 inspection rounds in cooperation with field pharmacists in the governorates, resulting in 813 legal actions against violators and the referral of 355 pharmacists to the disciplinary board, with recommendations to close three pharmacies.

Dr. Futuh added that in the context of combating digital chaos, the Ministry of Health successfully detected 100 electronic pages promoting drugs illegally and referred them to the relevant authorities, coinciding with the launch of warnings to educate the public about the dangers of purchasing drugs online, emphasizing the patient's right to access safe, effective medication at a fair price.
