Interior Minister Discusses Strengthening Support for Civil Defense with a Joint German-European Delegation

SadaNews - Interior Minister Ziad Hebe Al-Reeh received a joint German-European delegation today, Tuesday, at the ministry's headquarters, in the presence of the Director General of the Civil Defense, Major General Akram Thwabita. This meeting aimed to explore ways to enhance mutual cooperation in the fields of civil protection and capacity building.

During the meeting, the partnership relations with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) were reviewed and the technical and logistical support it has provided in coordination with the German Foreign Ministry was discussed, in addition to discussing a new support mechanism in partnership with the European Union, focusing on developing the capabilities of the Civil Defense through training, providing equipment, and strengthening infrastructure.

Hebe Al-Reeh emphasized the importance of this cooperation in supporting the ministry's efforts and improving the readiness of the Civil Defense, especially in light of the current challenges, while the delegation reaffirmed its commitment to continue supporting and developing joint programs in line with national priorities.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Interior Minister honored the Deputy Head of the EU Representative Office, James Rizzo, in appreciation of his efforts during his tenure and on the occasion of the conclusion of his duties.
