Guardiola: The English League Title is Not in Our Hands

SadaNews - Josep Guardiola, the head coach of Manchester City, praised his team's determination after they managed to secure a thrilling 3-3 draw against their host Everton on Monday in the 35th round of the Premier League. However, he simultaneously acknowledged the complicated situation his club faces in the title race.

Manchester City remains in second place in the league standings, five points behind Arsenal (the leader), with a game in hand.

Guardiola said to Sky Sports after the match: "A truly wonderful performance. We played an exceptional first half. It was very difficult against their physical strength."

The Spanish coach added: "In the second half, we perhaps were not completely in control of things, and after they scored their goal, they came back strongly and played a true English match; they were very aggressive in duels, but overall we delivered a very good performance."

Guardiola explained in his remarks: "Winning is better than losing, but of course winning is best, and we played for it. This only reflects the strength of the team."

City faces Brentford at home next Saturday, before Arsenal hosts their neighbor West Ham United in a highly anticipated London clash.

Guardiola emphasized: "Our position now depends on the results of others. The title is not in our hands right now. Before that match, it was, as was Arsenal's. But now, it is not in our hands."

The City coach pointed out at the end of his talk: "We have four matches left in the competition now, the next match is against Brentford, and it will be quite similar because the opponents are good, and we will see what happens. Of course, we approach these matches with confidence, just as we came here."
