Trump Threatens: We Will Use The Strongest Weapons If We Do Not Reach An Agreement With Iran
SadaNews - After the White House reported that U.S. President Donald Trump is optimistic about his country's negotiations with Iran in Pakistan, the president issued a threat. Trump confirmed that the U.S. military is resupplying warships with ammunition in anticipation of the failure of negotiations with Iran. In an interview with the "New York Post," he added that the next 24 hours will reveal the chances of success in the talks. He threatened that U.S. forces would use the strongest weapons if no agreement is reached. This came after the White House reported Trump’s optimism as he issued a statement today, Friday, saying that Trump has tasked Vice President D.J. Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff, and his son-in-law Jared Kushner to travel to Islamabad to negotiate with Iran. It also mentioned that officials from the National Security Council, the State Department, and the Department of Defense will play a supporting role, according to "Fox News." The statement also noted that President Trump is optimistic about the possibility of reaching an agreement that would lead to lasting peace in the Middle East. He continued that Trump has a strong record of making good agreements for the benefit of the U.S. and the American people, and will accept only an agreement that prioritizes America's interests, according to the White House. This statement came after President Donald Trump posted an enigmatic message on his Truth Social account, writing a brief phrase today, Friday, while Vance was boarding the plane to Islamabad: "The strongest reset of the world," in reference to a radical change in the global order. It also came after Iranian parliament speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf linked the start of talks with the U.S. to the implementation of two measures, which he said had previously been agreed upon: a ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of frozen Iranian assets. He wrote in a post on X today, Friday, that these steps are part of the commitments made by the parties and warned that negotiations should not begin before they are fulfilled, amidst escalating disagreements over the terms of the ceasefire and the continuation of hostilities in Lebanon. He stated: "Two agreed measures have not yet been implemented mutually by both sides: a ceasefire in Lebanon and the release of frozen Iranian assets.. these two matters must be executed before negotiations commence." For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that "America must adhere to its commitments regarding including Lebanon in the ceasefire and stopping Israeli attacks against it," according to official media reports.
