Iranian Drone Targets the Ministers' Complex Building in Kuwait

SadaNews - Kuwait announced on Sunday that the Ministers' Complex building was targeted on Saturday evening by an Iranian drone.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Finance stated in a post on its "X" account: "The Ministers' Complex building in Kuwait City was targeted on Saturday evening by an enemy drone due to the heinous Iranian aggression, which resulted in material damage to the building, without any human injuries reported."

The ministry added: "Emergency teams and relevant authorities began their tasks immediately after the incident according to the approved procedures."

It continued: "It has been decided that work on Sunday, April 5, 2026, will be remote for the employees of the Ministers' Complex, with the reception of clients being postponed on that day, and in-person work will resume on Monday, April 6, 2026, as part of the approved precautionary measures, and any updates will be communicated later."

Earlier, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation announced early Sunday that the oil sector complex located in the Shuwaikh area, which includes the corporation and the Ministry of Oil, had been attacked by drones, resulting in a fire in the building.

The corporation clarified in a statement to the Kuwait News Agency that emergency and firefighting teams immediately began to deal with the fire.

It noted that the building was completely evacuated in accordance with the approved precautionary measures, and no human injuries had been reported as of this moment.

It emphasized that the leadership of the oil sector is monitoring the assessment of the damages in coordination with the relevant authorities while taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of workers and secure the site.

In a post early Sunday, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army said: "Kuwaiti air defenses are currently intercepting hostile missile attacks and drones."

The post added: "The General Staff of the Army notes that if explosion sounds are heard, it is a result of the air defense systems intercepting the hostile attacks."
