The Israeli Army Develops a Comprehensive Plan to Deal with Hezbollah Without Disarming It

Translation by SadaNews - A senior Israeli officer reported on Friday that the army will present a comprehensive plan to the political echelon regarding the war on Lebanon.

According to the officer in a briefing to Israeli military reporters, as translated by SadaNews, the plan aims to completely destroy the Lebanese border villages adjacent to the border and to establish a security zone free of residents, allowing only Christians to return to the villages located on the line of contact.

The officer stated, 'Hezbollah has returned last year to attempt to rebuild its infrastructure near the border, therefore the entire area that is 3-4 kilometers from the border must be transformed into a security zone with a forward line of positions.'

He indicated that the plan aims for the complete destruction of the first line of villages in southern Lebanon and the establishment of a security zone.

The officer pointed out that the plan will soon be presented to the Israeli army's General Staff and the political echelon to obtain the necessary approvals.

He mentioned that the model proposed is essentially a version of the 'yellow line' model in Gaza, with the establishment of positions deeper into Lebanese territory as occurred inside the sector.

The officer admitted that the current circumstances do not allow for the disarmament of Hezbollah, emphasizing that this is not one of the goals of the war at present, and that the current focus on the Iranian front does not allow for setting the disarmament of weapons in Lebanon as an objective.

The senior officer stated: Hezbollah must be weakened and harmed, but dismantling the organization from its weapons is not an achievement required at the end of this battle.
