Important Expected Speech by Trump Regarding the War on Iran

SadaNews - The White House announced that President Donald Trump will deliver an address to the nation this evening, Wednesday, Washington time (early Thursday morning Palestine time), to provide what he described as "an important update on Iran."

The U.S. presidency clarified that the speech regarding Iran will take place at 9 PM Eastern Time (1 AM Thursday GMT).

This was announced by White House spokesperson Caroline Levitt in a very brief post on her official account on X. She wrote simply: "Stay tuned.. at 9 PM Eastern Time, President Trump will deliver a speech to the nation to provide an important update on Iran."

This comes after press statements from the U.S. president, in which he said the military operation against Iran could conclude within two to three weeks, even without the need to reach an agreement with Tehran.

Trump added that the military operation led to a change of regime in Iran due to the assassinations that resulted in the appointment of new officials, and also prevented Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons, according to his statements.

A survey conducted by Reuters/Ipsos showed that two-thirds of Americans believe that the United States should work to quickly end its involvement in the war with Iran, even if that means not achieving the goals set by the Trump administration.

On Tuesday, China and Pakistan announced the launch of a 5-point initiative to restore peace and stability in the Middle East region, which included an immediate cessation of hostilities, and the start of peace talks as soon as possible, along with calls to ensure the security of civilian targets and shipping lanes, and efforts to implement genuine multilateralism.

With opinions divided on what Trump might announce, some believe that the U.S. president will declare the end of the war, especially after several statements from him and many of his administration officials hinted at the imminent end of the conflict.

Others, however, see that he might announce sending ground troops into Iranian territory.
