Occupation announces Khillat al-Sidrah Bedouin gathering near Makmas 'a closed military zone'
SadaNews - Israeli occupation forces, accompanied by settlers, stormed the Khillat al-Sidrah Bedouin gathering near the village of Makmas, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, this morning (Tuesday).
The Jerusalem Governorate reported that the occupation forces notified citizens that the area has been declared a "closed military zone," completely prohibiting presence in it, in a provocative step aimed at emptying the gathering of its residents.
It is noteworthy that the occupation forces forcibly displaced 16 Bedouin families living in the gathering for about 25 years, in a blatant violation of their right to housing and stability.
Additionally, weeks ago, they closed the roads leading to the gathering using concrete blocks, completely preventing access, in an attempt to impose a new reality on the ground and to restrict the movement of residents, reflecting a continuous policy of tightening and forced displacement against the inhabitants of the gathering.
