A Palestinian Delegation Led by the Vice President Meets the Saudi Foreign Minister
SadaNews - Today, Monday, a high-level Palestinian delegation led by the Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Sheikh, met with the Saudi Foreign Minister, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
The Palestinian delegation included the Chairman of the National Council, Rouhi Fattouh, the Head of the Palestinian Intelligence Service, Major General Majed Faraj, and the President's Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs, Majdi Khaldi.
The Vice President conveyed the greetings of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, appreciating Saudi Arabia's longstanding historical positions that support the legitimate Palestinian rights to freedom and independence. He emphasized the considerable efforts made by the Kingdom and its partners, both brothers and friends, in rallying international support to form an international coalition for implementing the two-state solution, securing numerous international recognitions of the State of Palestine, and issuing the New York Declaration, in addition to providing ongoing humanitarian and developmental assistance to the Palestinian people.
The Vice President affirmed Palestine's supportive stance alongside Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states, Jordan, and other Arab countries that have suffered from Iranian aggression, rejecting any infringement on their sovereignty, security, and stability, and supporting their right to defend their peoples and security according to their own interests.
The Vice President stated, "We came today to confirm our full and steadfast support for our brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and all Arab siblings who have faced unjust Iranian aggression, emphasizing our strong confidence in the ability of our brothers in Saudi Arabia and other Arab countries to overcome these aggressions and protect their security, stability, and peoples. The Palestinian people are always ready to stand by their brothers who have never failed to support their rights and struggle for freedom and independence."
The Vice President briefed His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan on the latest developments regarding the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing the importance of moving forward to end the suffering of our people in Gaza, preventing displacement, advancing reconstruction efforts in Gaza, and pressuring for a halt to all unilateral actions that violate international law in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, stopping settlement activities and settler terrorism, releasing held Palestinian funds, halting assaults on Islamic and Christian holy sites, and ensuring worshippers' access. He also stressed the need to advance a political process based on international legitimacy to end the occupation and establish the Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
For his part, the Saudi Foreign Minister welcomed the Palestinian delegation led by the Vice President, praising Palestine's supportive position alongside Saudi Arabia and the Arab countries under Iranian attacks, and rejecting any infringement on the sovereignty and security of these states.
His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed Saudi Arabia's steadfast and principled position in supporting the legitimate Palestinian rights, stressing that despite the difficult circumstances facing the region, the issues of Palestine and its people's rights will remain the central issue for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people.
During the meeting, the latest regional developments were discussed, as well as ways to enhance Arab cooperation and coordination in confronting the dangers threatening Arab countries and their peoples, in addition to methods to strengthen the fraternal bilateral relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples.
