The War Escalates Between Hezbollah and Israel.. The Lebanese President Affirms: No Civil War
SadaNews: The war between Lebanon and Israel is experiencing a rapid military escalation, as the Israeli occupation army announced that the 36th Division is continuing to deepen its strikes against Hezbollah's infrastructure in southern Lebanon, confirming that it has eliminated elements of the party and destroyed weapon depots there.
In response, Hezbollah has intensified its military operations, firing about 30 rockets towards northern Israeli areas, targeting the Birya barracks in the Upper Galilee and an artillery position in the settlement of Dishon, in addition to the command center of the northern region in Safed.
The party also announced that it targeted a Merkava tank in the border town of Al-Qozah with a guided missile for the second time, achieving a direct hit, and confirmed that it fired surface-to-air missiles at an Israeli warplane during its aggression on southern Lebanon and forced it to retreat.
These events prompted the Israeli home front to sound alarm sirens in areas of the Upper Galilee after detecting a drone coming from Lebanon.
Amid this escalation, the Lebanese president – according to what was reported by the newspaper Al-Nahar – emphasized that Lebanon will not slip into a civil war, affirming the continuation of his initiative for negotiations with Israel, in an attempt to contain the crisis and prevent it from expanding into a full-scale confrontation.
