The Elections Committee in Deir al-Balah Implements Training for Candidate Lists
SadaNews - The Elections Committee in the city of Deir al-Balah began today, Tuesday, a series of specialized training programs targeting candidates from the competing lists in the local elections for the Deir al-Balah Municipality, totaling 64 candidates representing four lists. The aim is to empower them to exercise their democratic rights and enhance their knowledge of their rights and duties, ensuring the electoral process operates within the approved legal frameworks.
The committee clarified that these programs are part of an awareness and education campaign being implemented to reach all voters in Deir al-Balah. They include intensive training sessions that focus on explaining the electoral law and the governing executive regulations, as well as reviewing the procedures from the candidacy stage to the voting day. Additionally, they address the rules of electoral campaigning, including funding sources and spending mechanisms, in accordance with the provisions of the law.
The local elections are scheduled to take place on April 25th in Deir al-Balah, concurrently with elections in 420 local bodies in the West Bank, until the appropriate conditions are available to conduct them in the remaining bodies of the Gaza Strip.
