Saudi Crown Prince and Egyptian President Discuss Implications of Military Escalation in the Region
SadaNews - Today, in Jeddah, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, discussed with Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, the developments in regional situations, primarily the implications of the military escalation in the Middle East, its impact on the security and stability of the region and the world, and the coordination of efforts being made in this regard.
In this context, both parties confirmed that the repeated hostile Iranian attacks on the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council, targeting vital and civilian facilities there, constitute a serious escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region, according to the Saudi Press Agency, SPA.
Additionally, during the meeting, President el-Sisi reiterated Egypt's condemnation of the repeated Iranian transgressions against the Kingdom and the countries of the region, affirming Egypt's solidarity with the Kingdom against any threat to its sovereignty and security.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi arrived in Saudi Arabia today, Saturday, as part of a Gulf tour to discuss the developments of the regional war and to affirm Egypt's solidarity with the Gulf states.
President el-Sisi is currently on a Gulf tour that also included Qatar, the UAE, and Bahrain. His visit to the Kingdom today comes days after a visit by Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atti to the Kingdom, where he met with his Saudi counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
El-Sisi arrived in Saudi Arabia from Bahrain, after a several-hour visit to the capital Manama, where he met with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
In Manama, the Egyptian President and the King of Bahrain affirmed on Saturday the contents of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which strongly condemned and called for the immediate halt to all attacks launched by Iran against the Gulf Arab countries and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the immediate unconditional cessation of any provocation or threat to neighboring countries, as well as the inherent right of the GCC states and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to defend themselves against the attacks launched by Iran.
The King of Bahrain expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Egyptian President for his support and solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain in its measures to defend its sovereignty, security, and stability, and to ensure the safety of its people.
Two days ago, President el-Sisi visited the UAE and Qatar as part of Egypt's commitment to support and assist the Gulf Cooperation Council countries amid the current regional circumstances, and to reaffirm Egypt's unequivocal condemnation and rejection of the unjustified attacks on the territories of brotherly states and attempts to harm their security and capabilities.
