Putin: Russia is a Reliable and Loyal Partner to Iran
SadaNews - On Saturday, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to the Iranian leadership and people on the occasion of Nowruz, affirming the strength of relations between Moscow and Tehran in light of current circumstances.
In his message, he confirmed that Russia will remain a "faithful friend and reliable partner" to Iran, emphasizing Moscow's support for the Iranian people in facing current challenges and wishing them to overcome difficult conditions, according to a report by the Russian news agency Sputnik today.
It is noteworthy that Russia and Iran signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement in Moscow in January 2025, in the presence of Putin and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Bezhishekian, which officially came into effect in October of the same year.
The treaty, which lasts for twenty years, stipulates cooperation in all defensive, economic, and energy fields, and confronting the Western sanctions imposed on the two countries.
