Hundreds Dead and Wounded Due to Pakistani Airstrikes on Kabul in Afghanistan
SadaNews - At least 400 people have been killed and 250 others injured following an airstrike conducted by the Pakistani Air Force on the Afghan capital, Kabul, according to official reports from the Afghan government.
The deputy spokesperson for the government confirmed that the airstrike targeted a hospital in the capital, resulting in this large number of casualties.
In contrast, a Pakistani military source stated that the airstrikes targeted military sites, infrastructure, and ammunition depots at two locations in the capital, confirming that the operations were directed against specific military targets.
These developments come amid ongoing escalation between the two neighbors in recent weeks, which has included aerial attacks and mutual border clashes.
Afghan government spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid had confirmed that the Pakistani airstrikes affected areas in four Afghan provinces, in addition to the capital Kabul, and the aircraft also targeted a fuel reservoir belonging to Afghan airlines near Kandahar Airport.
In an Afghan reaction, local forces launched a drone attack on a military fortress in Kohat city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwestern Pakistan, targeting soldiers' living quarters, weapon depots, and the operations command center, including the office of the military fortress commander, about two kilometers from the site, in a move reflecting the rising tension between the two parties.
