Egypt Calls for Formation of a "Joint Arab Force"

SadaNews - Egypt has called for the formation of a "Joint Arab Force" aimed at protecting the resources of the countries in the region from any future threats.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Atti emphasized on Sunday the "utmost importance of formulating a clear vision for regional and security arrangements following the end of the Iran War."

Abdel Atti stressed during a phone call with his Jordanian counterpart Ayman Safadi the "necessity of activating frameworks for joint Arab action and establishing effective security mechanisms, foremost among them the formation of the joint Arab force, to ensure the preservation of Arab national security and protect the resources of the region's countries from any future threats, and to provide a sustainable environment for stability."

During the call, there was "consultation and coordination of positions regarding the dangerous military escalation in the region," according to a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

Abdel Atti reaffirmed Egypt's firm condemnation of the attacks targeting the security and stability of sister Arab countries, stressing the total rejection of any justifications for these violations that breach the rules of international law and threaten to push the entire region into comprehensive chaos.

Both sides emphasized the necessity of an immediate halt to the ongoing war and escalating military operations, warning of the catastrophic repercussions of continued escalation.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister confirmed that "prioritizing the diplomatic path and the language of dialogue is the sole option for containing the current crisis and sparing the peoples of the region the ravages of prolonged conflict."

The two ministers agreed to continue channels of consultation and close ongoing coordination between Cairo and Amman, as part of the Arab efforts aimed at restoring peace and security in the region.
