SadaNews - Ali Larijani, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, participated in the "Quds Day" march in downtown Tehran, according to footage aired by state television on Friday, marking a rare public appearance by an Iranian official since the beginning of the U.S.-Israeli attack on the country.
In remarks to the television shortly after strikes occurred near the protest site, Larijani stated: "These attacks stem from fear and desperation. The powerful do not bomb demonstrations at all. It is clear that the (attack) has failed."
According to television footage, Police Chief Ahmad Reza Radan also took part in the march. Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and several other leaders were killed at the onset of the U.S.-Israeli attack on the country on February 28.
