They stole 50,000 shekels.. Armed robbery targeting a driver of a poultry company vehicle in Jenin

SadaNews - The general investigations department of the Jenin governorate police revealed today, Thursday, the details of an armed robbery incident that targeted the theft of 50,000 shekels from a driver of a poultry company vehicle in the south of the governorate.

Police spokesperson Major Louay Arzeqat stated that immediately after the incident occurred, the general investigations department and the forensic evidence team of the Jenin police began the search and investigation procedures and gathering evidence, leading to the suspicion of one person who was arrested.

Arzeqat added that the suspect initially reported being a victim of an armed robbery by unknown individuals while driving the vehicle, and that 50,000 shekels from the company he works for were stolen before they fled.

He pointed out that after completing the search and investigation procedures by a specialized team from the general investigations department, and re-interrogating the driver of the vehicle, he admitted to stealing the money and falsely claimed that he was the victim of an armed robbery; he inflicted injuries on himself, damaged the vehicle, and sent a threatening message to the company owner in an attempt to conceal the theft.

Arzeqat confirmed that the suspect and the stolen amount have been detained for referral to the public prosecution to complete the legal procedures against him accordingly.
