Saudi Arabia condemns Huckabee's statements, describing them as a "dangerous precedent" from an American official

SadaNews - The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned and completely denounced the statements made by Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to Israel, in which he carelessly expressed that Israel's control over the entire Middle East would be acceptable.

The Kingdom firmly rejects these irresponsible statements, which constitute a violation of international laws, the United Nations Charter, and diplomatic norms, and represent a dangerous precedent coming from an American official. It shows a disregard for the distinguished relations of the countries in the region with the United States.

In this context, the Saudi Foreign Ministry stated in a statement: "This extremist proposal heralds dire consequences and threatens global security and peace, inciting conflict with the countries and peoples of the region, and marginalizing the foundations of the international system agreed upon by the world’s nations to put an end to the bloody wars that have claimed the lives of millions in the past, as well as the respect the international system has established for the borders of countries and the sovereignty of nations over their territories." The statement continued: "The U.S. Department of State must clarify its position on this rejected proposal from all peace-loving nations."

In this regard, the Kingdom reiterates its firm stance against any actions that may compromise the sovereignty, borders, and territorial integrity of nations, emphasizing that the only path to achieving a just and comprehensive peace is ending the occupation based on the two-state solution, and establishing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
