Palestinian Foreign Ministry Condemns Huckabee's Statements: Contradicting Religious, Historical Facts and International Law
SadaNews - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned the statements made by the U.S. ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, in which he claimed that "Israel has a 'biblical right' to control the entire Middle East from the Nile to the Euphrates," citing biblical interpretations.
The Ministry affirmed in a statement released this Saturday evening that these remarks contradict religious and historical facts, as well as international law, in addition to contradicting what U.S. President Donald Trump announced regarding the rejection of annexing the West Bank.
The statement emphasized that these provocative and rejected statements represent a clear call for aggression against the sovereignty of states and support for the occupation to continue its extermination and displacement war and to implement annexation and racial expansion plans against the Palestinian people, which has been rejected by the entire international community, affirming that the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, are occupied Palestinian territories according to international law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs urged the U.S. administration to take a clear and explicit stance on the statements of its ambassador to Israel that completely contradict the position of the U.S. president, and to reaffirm the positions declared by President Trump regarding achieving peace in the Middle East, stopping wars and violence, and rejecting the Israeli annexation of the West Bank, which does not aid in realizing President Trump’s vision for lasting peace in the Middle East.
