Assurances from Shath and Miladinov on Stability.. Trump at the First Meeting of the Peace Council: We Will Provide $10 Billion for Gaza
SadaNews - U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday evening that the United States will contribute approximately $10 billion to relief efforts in the Gaza Strip.
This announcement came during the opening speech of the first meeting of the "Peace Council" in Washington, attended by Ali Shath, the head of the Palestinian technocratic committee responsible for managing Gaza's affairs.
More than 20 countries are participating in this meeting, which aims to achieve stability in Gaza.
Trump stated: "I am pleased to announce that Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, the UAE, Morocco, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, and Kuwait have all contributed more than seven billion dollars to the relief package."
He noted that FIFA will seek to raise more than 75 million dollars for Gaza, while the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Assistance will gather two billion dollars.
He pointed out that Japan, South Korea, and other Asian countries are interested in financing programs supporting Gaza.
He added: "Gaza is no longer a hotspot for extremism and terrorism, and it appears that Hamas will disarm, but we must ensure that."
Regarding the proposed peace force for Gaza, he said: "I don't think it will be necessary to send soldiers to fight."
Trump committed to "working for a bright future for Gaza and the Middle East." He noted that "reluctant countries will join the Peace Council."
He considered that the "Gaza file is very complicated," stating that "there is a lot of work that needs to be done in Gaza."
The U.S. President emphasized that "achieving peace is difficult, but we will reach it."
Trump expressed his commitment to "achieving good governance in Gaza," revealing that "China and Russia will participate in those efforts."
Regarding talks with Iran, he advised Tehran to make a deal, or else bad things will happen. He also remarked.
He mentioned that "the talks are good. It has been proven over the years that reaching a serious agreement with Iran is not easy. We need to reach a serious agreement, otherwise, the consequences will be severe."
He believes that the next ten days will reveal whether reaching an agreement with Iran is possible, stating: "We may need to take a step further, or perhaps not, or we may reach an agreement. You will probably find out about that in the next ten days."
Trump urged Iran to make a "viable deal" while he continues military mobilization in the Middle East and threatens to launch an attack on Iran.
During the meeting, remarks came from various officials including the head of the National Committee for Gaza Administration, Ali Shath.
Shath said: "We are committed to achieving stability and development in Gaza and are working in difficult conditions," noting that "the situation in Gaza is fragile, and we are operating in an unusual environment."
He stated: "We are working to restore security in Gaza under one authority and one weapon, and we are working to revive the economy in Gaza and restore essential services."
He added: "We are working step by step to build the foundations for sustainable peace in Gaza."
The Executive Director of the Peace Council in Gaza, Nikolai Miladinov, stated: "We are working in close coordination with Israel and Palestinian authorities."
He noted that the process of recruiting members for the Palestinian police has begun, indicating that 2000 people have applied to work as transitional police officers in the Gaza Strip.
He stressed: "We have no choice but to disarm in Gaza."
In the same meeting, the Commander of the International Stabilization Force in Gaza announced the commitment of five countries to send forces to the region.
General Jasper Jevers said: "I am very pleased to announce today the commitment of the first five countries to send troops to work within the International Stabilization Force, which includes Indonesia, Morocco, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, and Albania. Two other countries have also committed to training police officers, which are Egypt and Jordan." He added that "Indonesia has accepted the position of Deputy Commander of the International Security Force."
The Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto confirmed the contribution of "eight thousand soldiers or more to the Gaza force."
