80 Countries and Organizations Condemn Unilateral Israeli Decisions and Actions

SadaNews - Today, Tuesday, 80 countries and organizations condemned the unilateral Israeli decisions and actions aimed at expanding Israel's illegal presence in the West Bank.

In a statement read by the Permanent Representative of the State of Palestine, Riyad Mansour, on behalf of 80 countries and international organizations during a press conference held at the United Nations headquarters in New York, it was stated that these decisions contradict Israel's obligations under international law and must be reversed immediately, reaffirming their absolute opposition to any form of annexation.

They reiterated their rejection of all measures aimed at changing the demographic composition, character, and legal status of the occupied Palestinian territory since 1967, including East Jerusalem. They stated that such measures constitute a violation of international law, undermine ongoing efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region, contradict the comprehensive plan, and threaten the prospects for reaching a peace agreement that ends the conflict.

They emphasized their commitment, as stated in the New York Declaration, to take concrete measures in accordance with international law and in alignment with relevant United Nations resolutions and the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice on July 19, 2024, to support the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination, to confront illegal settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territory, including East Jerusalem, as well as the policies and threats of forced displacement and annexation.

They stressed that achieving a just and lasting peace based on relevant United Nations resolutions, the Madrid Principles, including the land-for-peace principle, the Arab Peace Initiative, ending the Israeli occupation that began in 1967, and implementing the two-state solution—where two democratic states, an independent sovereign Palestine and Israel, live side by side in peace and security within recognized and secure borders based on the lines of 1967, including concerning Jerusalem—remains the only path capable of ensuring security and stability in the region.
